Spring term 2026

What a fantastic Spring Term we had in Preschool!

The term was full of celebrations, creativity and lots of learning through play. We enjoyed celebrating Lunar New Year, Valentine’s Day, Pancake Day, Ramadan, Eid, St Patrick’s Day, Holi, Mother’s Day and Easter, giving the children opportunities to explore different cultures, traditions and experiences.

The children particularly enjoyed our colourful Holi celebrations, getting creative with paint, colour mixing and sensory play. They also worked hard creating thoughtful Mother’s Day cards for their loved ones.

Our book of the term was The Three Little Pigs. The children loved acting out the story and worked together to build the three houses using different materials, bringing the story to life through imaginative play.

As spring arrived, the children enjoyed noticing the changing weather and signs of new life around them. Through outdoor play and seasonal activities, they explored blooming flowers, brighter days and warmer sunshine, sparking lots of curiosity and conversation about the world around them

Our Easter celebration was a real highlight. We were delighted to welcome parents and carers into the nursery to take part in Easter crafts alongside their children. To make the day even more special, Bert and his Amazing Creatures joined us, giving families the opportunity to meet a variety of fascinating animals and creating lots of excitement for everyone involved.

Alongside our celebrations, the children have enjoyed sensory play, creative activities, outdoor adventures and imaginative play. It has been wonderful to watch their confidence, independence and friendships continue to grow throughout the term.

Spring in the Snug

Throughout the term, we have enjoyed a variety of sensory experiences designed to encourage curiosity and exploration. Messy play has remained a firm favourite, giving the children opportunities to squeeze, splash, mix, pat and explore while building confidence and independence.

The term has also been filled with wonderful celebrations. We enjoyed learning about Lunar New Year, exploring Pancake Day and celebrating the vibrant Festival of Colours during Holi. The children particularly enjoyed getting creative with bright colours and sensory materials during these special occasions.

Mother’s Day was a particularly lovely celebration, with the children helping to make thoughtful cards for their families.

As Easter approached, we were delighted to welcome parents and carers into the nursery to take part in Easter crafts alongside their children. The day was made even more special by a visit from Bert and his Amazing Creatures, giving families the opportunity to meet a variety of fascinating animals and creating lots of excitement for children and adults alike.

Outside, we’ve enjoyed fresh air, movement and opportunities to develop our physical skills. Whether climbing, crawling, walking, exploring or simply enjoying the outdoors, the children have embraced every adventure.

A particular favourite this term has been watching the birds from our window. The children have loved spotting our feathered visitors and showing great excitement whenever they appeared

Most importantly, we have loved watching the children grow in confidence and independence throughout the term.
